If and when the Industry code is updated, we will notify our affiliates on the requirements and we expect our affiliates to adhere to them. Failure to comply will result in the affiliate being removed from the programme indefinitely.
The Industry Code for Socially Responsible Advertising (the ‘Industry Code’) is now in its sixth edition to further advance new requirements designed to better protect children and vulnerable consumers online. These changes came into effect 1st September 2020 and as such, tombola (International) Plc and its associated companies will adhere to the code.
Social media marketing
All gaming affiliates are to restrict their YouTube channel so that anyone visiting their YouTube page must be signed into view content. In addition to this, all video uploads should be age restricted to 18+ to ensure users log in to age-verified accounts in order to view content. For any consumer facing marketing content on YouTube, as above 18+ and begambleaware.org must be displayed.
As a rule, we do not work with influencers on social media.
Due to recent changes to how Twitter’s age-gating feature functions, our tombola Twitter feed is used solely for Customer Services. Our affiliates are not permitted to use Twitter to promote any gambling related content. If any affiliate is found to be using twitter to promote gambling content, this is in breach of our terms and this will result in the affiliate being removed the programme indefinitely.

Unlike Facebook, Instagram has limited settings whereby specific content cannot be age restricted to 18+. As a general rule, due to these limitations, no gaming content should be featured on the affiliates Instagram page.
Paid for activity
Any targeted activity must be agreed by tombola. The general rule is that advertisement must be targeted at consumers aged 25+.
Responsible Gambling
It is a requirement for relevant affiliates to share responsible gambling related content on a regular basis, with frequency to be pre-determined with each individual operator with whom that affiliate has an agreement. As part of our monthly compliance check, we will monitor content for Responsible Gambling. If there is no mention of Responsible Gambling for any gambing site, we will reach out to encourage and if no mention continues, we will terminate relationships with the affiliate who cannot and do not comply.
Cashback site queries
For all cashback queries, they must be submitted once the £10 real money has been staked. The £10 real money stake must be made within the first 30 days of the first deposit and the first deposit is a minimum of £10. When sending the query, we require the following information:
- Username
- Date of registration
- Amount deposited
Duplicate Accounts
Having more than one account with tombola is in breach of the terms and conditions, we therefore reserve the right to close your account. Cashback on duplicate accounts will be forfeit.
